Looking for some VPS recommendations after moving back to shared hosting from a dedi - have a few personal bits and pieces to run (backup MX and HTTP, Git server, nothing extra-special). I initially want to go for something in the UK, but will consider Europe - UK providers seem to be insanely expensive! Spec-wise, 1GB RAM, 50-100GB disk (can be SSD or HDD) and 2 CPU (clock unimportant) with a dedicated IPv4 address. A VMware vSphere-backed VPS would be ideal as I maintain a VMWare Tools Puppet module and I've just cancelled my vSphere dedi! I'm aiming for around £150 per year (happy to pay up-front) but can potentially go to more. Anyone have any recommendations or would be willing to do mates-rates (saspro? ). Cheers!
I recommend digital ocean. I use them for my website and out of all the VPS providers I have used, they have definitely been the best both in terms of support and speed. I get 50mb/s+ download through it and they have pre-configured images to use. Their space is a bit on the small side for what you are after, but please take a look.
