I just got back from the Ultimate Street Cars event at Santa Pod Raceway Northampton. Just wondering if anyone else is going down or been down and what there thoughts on the event were. Here is a summery of my day: Set off for the raceway @ 11am in a 2 car convey my Corsa and my mates 3000GT GTO. Arrived at the raceway @ 1pm after getting lost have way to rushen (map point sucks!). Made it into the mudhole known as the car park and parked the cars. We were just in time to see some of the drag races before they shut the track for lunch. A convertable VW Beetle (old, old old) creamed a RS Turbo. Took a walk round and the cars on display included: > BMW Z3 with a 4 tone paint work and a HUGE can of NOS > A jet black car (don't know what it was) which had speakers mounted on hydraulics which lifted the roof and acted like a PA system. Very cool indeed. > Pug 405 which could go over 200mph! The guy said the whole car only cost him £3500 to build and mod! > A excellent MG show car that contain a PS2, X-Box, 2x 12 CD stacks and a 10 DVD changer in the boot! After some light refreshment we were back in time to see a Cadiliac put the best 1/4 mile time of 7.37 secs! @ 168.28mph! Overall it was a good show I wish that I could have a been able to stay for the whole weekend, definity worth going to if you like your cars. http://www.ultimatestreetcar.co.uk/
i went once with my cousin in his vauxhall calibra, dunno how he did it but it had 2 turbos & NOS as well as a straight through exaust & very very nice air induction with a custom ir intakecoming through a moulded hole in the drivers front wing & a really meaty intercooler, god that was fast, shame it was stolen & torched. it is a right laugh going to things like this, when i get my first car, even tho it will be a total shed im taking it down & seeing what my times will be (probably measured in days with my first car )
Yeah events like this are a total laugh, my mates are still there for the whole 2 days I wish i could have stayed as i'm missing the Miss USC competition!:cries:
