well I have seen this video b4. I love it. A buick grand national pulling 1075hp not bad huh? THe thing is that grand national is only a 3.8L motor so that 1000+hp is good but could be better. Some grandnationals pull as high as 1500hp+ properly done. and who says american cars arent designed to be hightech. 3.8L pulling that mutch power would rival the mighty skyline ppl seem to like so mutch but only at 1/5th the price. Do some search around the web some one has actualy put 8 turbos on a 5.7L chevy motor and while testing it they were pulling a mild 750hp and 900lb of tourque but that was just a test when completed its suposed to hit about 2000hp+ while running on pump gas and be street legal. They also have some shops that can sell you street legal corvetes TTsetuped to hit 1300hp and track tuned and still be 50states legal. Or you can always get the 170k lingenfelter vette thats tuned to hit 248mph at 850hp and it thrashes ferari enzos anytime.

Thanks for the video I wanted to see it again.

american muscle cars and the like are all v sexy

but i dont know why people try to compare stupid american engine sizes to super tech jap racers

then again, mustang + jap style tech = best of both

U dont know the 1/2 of it with an acel from 0-60mph in 1.9sec that thing will snap your neck and top speed of "estimated 240mph" has been clocked doing around 250btw that thing is faster than any mclaren or any ferrari on the planet. Exept the cart or formula 1 cars. Oh and I forgot it runs off regular pump gas and is legal in every state in the US.

Just caught that. The actual designer of the 05 mustang is asian but the 05mustang is a redesigned 68mustang. So its nothing too new. BUt is very sexy gotta have it.

Hate to breack it to you again. The fuel injection systems and variable valve timings and turbo tech that jap cars use was born in the US between the 1920 "variable valve timing" and turbo tech of the 60's and 70's for trucks. And do I need to mention where the intercooler came from?

I know im going to be flamed for this but go ahed nothing new in the motors forums.

erm... aero-dynamics.that square car could never do 240. it would ether take off or not have the hp to push it that fast.

    Got to agree there.

The record holding Maclaren had its wing mirrors removed, ride height lowered and a few more little tweaks to get over 240...

    That 'vette still plastic? :)

things like corvettes have an international sleazy look to them, everyone loves them, but generally speaking its just yanks that like mustangs, and going by appearance i gotta say they are highly overrated. i like the old ones, but when i was there like last year and the year before, the new one just looks like any other modern car. but americans look at it and melt, im not sure why...

and im not really bothered about who invented variable valve timing, or intercoolers. im sure a lot of other car inventions came from the usa too, but its commonly accepted that this is jap tech because thats what they spend all of their time working on and they totally improved how modern technology is applied to cars.

american cars = stupidly large (5litre) engines and high torque. handles worse than my mums micra

jap cars =2.2l engines tuned to 1200hp. stupid unrequired electronics (toe warmers on the pedals etc)

then again i read (while i was in usa in some mustang tuning magazine i bought hehe) that when they apply all that jap tech to the 5l mustangs they get like 2000bhp!

Point taken. But the tech isnt jap they been doing these type of things to american v8's for decades. And No I am not making anything up. The vette I linked you guys to isnt from my site and i dont have afeliation to it what so ever. and the boxy car is the grand national and the linked to car that does 0-60 in 1.9 is a vette.

5.0L stangs are a bit overated. But they do look good as far as mustangs go but I personaly perfer the 94-98mustang body and the 93-95 engine. 5.0L 350hp 450lb of tourque and its rumbles like no other. But thats just a personal choice tho.

And no nothing is wrong with the numbers on the site. The vette I linked you to is from a US based tuning company called lingenfelter. Look at the pics. Lov the totaly cromed engine bay as well.

Well the vette was never totaly plastic. They have plastic bumper but its majorly metal. Aluminum alloy wherever possible on parts and steel.
