Windows unable to start the computer

    a few weeks ago ive started having problems with the power button on my case i would have to press the button for a very long time or press it rapidity. now that wont work at all. I have also tried the "jump start method" but it doesnt seem to work. i believe my power supply nor motherboard are broken do to when i turn on the power switch on the power supply the led's on the motherboard light up. please help

    Had a similiar problem with a friends PC, had to press the power button 4 or 5 times to get it to work, that was the psu at fault. Can you get yours hands on another psu to test your system.

    Check the connection between your front panel connectors and motherboard.
    They are commonly in the bottom right hand corner of the board.
    They look like this

    and connect to this on the motherboard.

    By "jump start method" do you mean bridging the green + any black wire on the PSU's 20/24pin connector? If it's plugged in to power socket the PSU should start up... if not it's dead. Otherwise it's a mobo or switch issue.

    Jump start, as in shorting the pins on the mobo? You need a spare PSU to test ideally.

    ^ No no, as in test the PSU by jumpstarting it by shorting the pins on its 20/24 connector...
