I'm due to finish college in the next two weeks and the plan was to go in the Army. However, I can't go in for another year due to some silly medical reason. Anyway, as I have to wait a year I may as well wait 3 and go to uni in the meantime. Hopefully then I will eligable for commision. I should have put in a uni application back at Christmas but I didn't bother thinking i'd get in the Army without a problem. Now i'm wondering if there is any way I can apply now and get in for September?
Nope. As far as I'm aware the deadline was january 15th. Even if you went in for clearing you have to have a formal application & everything and as far as I know you can no longer apply? But I could be very very wrong, check ucas.com for info. Tho tbh I think it's unfair if you can still apply now
You can apply but you will go through clearing so it will just be the left over places. Good luck though
You can still apply yes. You will only be eligible for places in clearing though and you will have to apply after 30th June. http://www.ucas.com/getting/clearing/index.html
Remember, you'll need a reference from a college tutor too... So you'll wanna do that before everyone buggers off for summer and whathaveya. Everything else can be done yourself online, which is handy. You'll want some of those PN1 student finance forms too, probably be able to pick them up from college. For applying for your student loan and such.
Also, it might be a good idea to include the whole army thing in your personal statement since you're actually applying later too. It will look good on your part to show that you're not applying because you didn't get the grades
Clearing doesn't start until the end of August. I think the stage that you'd be applying at now counts as a late application.
You can apply now. I applied like 2 weeks ago and managed to get a place. Don't expect to get a place at the top unis. Your application will count as a late one, but obviously just make sure you complete all the necessary crap like reference.
