First photo is the icon used in the 2K Interactive game Civilization V to represent Radio technology. The second one is my photo of Unidyne. I've been told that 2K snagged it and many others off of Google Photo Search without getting anyone's permission. It's kinda cool but kinda sucky too. Here is an other example: What do you guys think of this?
Kinda sucks, but part and parcel of the interwebz. Have you written to them informing them of your displeasure.
It's kinda amusing, really. There's not much you can do about a drawing based on a photo. By copyright law, it's more than 90% original since it's re-drawn. Take it as a compliment I guess.
I've been told by some people who analyzed the photos in detail that it is actually based on this flipped around photo. The tell tale is the wrapped around cable. Apparently it is done in Photoshop (I'm told) which I will assume was also not a legitimate copy. It seems that the Civ community is treating it as an Easter Egg to find out how many supposedly stock photos were used to make graphics for the game. What fun! Edit: Check out the tiny piece of cable peeking out from where the body meets the support. Identical!
