Just finished reloading windows, and just realised that i'm setup with a f'ing american keyboard, and at the moment can't change it.

I have gone through all the settings in the language options and when i select change inpit language to united kingdom, the keyboard layout drop down only shows united states layouts.

any ideas how i can reinstall the uk keyboard layout with out reloading windows.

    thanks

It should work in XP. I did it on a friends XP machine.

On windows 2000 its: control panel -> keyboard -> input locales -> change and then there's an option to install any language.

It should be the same for XP cos they're very similar

control panel -> REgional and Language options -> Languages -> details

select keyboard and click add, then remove US :)

yeah that was the first place i looked, but the united kingdom layout isn't available for selection eg its not been copied of not installed.

what i need to know is how you add/install/reinstall the keyboard layouts without having to reload windows

Yeah have tried all of those, and none of them work, as again the keyboard layout isn't available for selection. I've formated and rebuilt the machine now anyway, this time it installed the uk keyboard and i was able to remove the us one durring the windows install

    thanks anyway
