THAT'S THE ONE!!!! I spent ten minutes trying to remember his darn name... the only thing I could think he was was Bob Monkhouse... for some reason... I shall now to edit. My dearest appologies to any Dancing Bruce Forscythe fans!

So how do you tell a GIF (which I pronounce with a G not a J) from a JFIF file - with a JIF extension?
The words JFIF have never crossed my lips. Must admit I'm a giff (as in gill, the liquid measure) pronouncer.

I actually got in an argument in my 7th grade computer class (I was a student for about 2 days. I became a TA when I did about +40wpm on the first test) over how to pronounce SCSI (I'm pretty sure I won, it's "skuzzy" dammit). I'm also weird w/ acronyms. I'll make a word out of something like MPEG ("em-peg") but not something more obvious like AVI (could easily be "Ah-vee" or "Ave-ee"). Just imagine if common file extensions were longer and decided to add numbers, then we'd all be speaking 1337 when we're talking about files (well, that sorta happens with pr0n, but that's different).
i can record some special words ins spanish for you, because is too dificult to spell the spanish pronunsiation. URL mIRC ADSL DOS WINDOWS MICROSOFT GIF JPG ACDSEE AOL AIM ICQ MSNM LAN WAN BeOS MAC TIFF EXE TXT DLL USA NATO (OTAN) URSS (UNION SOVIETICA) UN (NACioNES UNIDAS) FTP FAQ (sounds like F>U>C>K)

also, how does everyone pronounce VIA (the chipset manufacturer)? vee-eye-ay or via? I pronounce it vee-eye-ay
You don't say ASP as "Hasp" do you? I pronounce it Veeya myself. As in VGER from ST: The Motion Picture
except for a few like URL, DOS, PHP, and a few others, I just call it what it is. I.E: GUI= Graphical User Interface LAN= Local Area Network et cetera, et cetera, et cetera...
Vie-a Gif = Jif theres a whole argument upon that, cant rememebr the site that talks all about it, Il go looking and post linkage.
Yeah.... That'd be me too........ I say GIF like gif, hard g, like in gimp, only instead of mp it's f Tra la la la........
