Windows Unreal tournament - Critical error (xp)

    I have instaled UNreal tournament on my XP computer - it ran fine and i spent the night shooting my brother (via home network)

    the next day (sunday- today) i instaled a few other progs and then planed to shoot my little bro again - but it cam up with the dumb "CRITICAL ERROR" thing below

    since then i have

    -done a "system restore" back to yesteday
    -reinstalled UT
    - tryed runing it in safemode
    - tryed running it form software rendering

    etc etc

    and i now am getting realy pis*ed off :waah:

    and i need my UT!!!!

    and some one help :confused:

    please!!!!

    get the very same error, in fact have to install ut from hdd copies cos even that doesn't work.....
    solved it by reducing overclock a little, still woon't install tho'....

    yeah well

    i dont OverClock this comp (at all) and i had now problem installing it and even running it on saturday

    and now although it will still install fine it wont run!!

    Have you changed any hardware since it last worked? I had a generic DVD-ROM drive installed for a while, only to discover that it totally screwed up every Unreal game (UT, UT2k3, U, U2 and all the games using the engine...). I only managed to fix it once i removed the drive, was a very nasty thing to happen...

    interesting.... mine screwed up after i installed an athlon XP range processor..... was and i think still is fine with my old t/bird

    surely some one has some ideas

    i have installed the latest update and tryed everthink



    here are my system spec (if any one cares)

    graphics card: SAphire atlantis Radeon 9600 Pro 128MB

    motherboard: Epox 8RDA+ nForce2

    RAM: x2 TwinMOS PC3200 DDR-DIMM 256MB w/Winbond

    cpu: Athlon XP 2600+ 2.08Ghz SoA - 333FSB (not barton)

    that doesn't work m8, tried that a number of times, hans't helped!
    is the machine prime/super pi stable?

    A) why wont wot work
    remeber it has work on the computer

    huh!
    worked on mine too, but no matter how many re-installs still won't work....
    can you run superpi or prime95 without it crashng?

    SuperPI (or pifast) calculate pi to a varying number of decimal places. If i can't create an exact number then u get an error.
    With prime, numbers are calculated by computer and compared to a set of know values (i think) any errors = pc unstable, same for both :D
