    Help! Ahhhh!

Ok, so I have this 250GB HDD hooked as IDE, and a 320GB HDD (partitioned into a 70GB main drive and 250GB backup) hooked up as SATA2.

The problem is, my computer will sometimes start up and not display the 250GB IDE. It doesn't show up in My Computer, or Disk Management. This started happening a little while back. I check the connections and it's working. I check BIOS and it's there. I restart it and sometimes it works. Any additional ideas?

This used to happen to me when my PC was right on the threshold of what the PSU could supply, how much overhead do you have?

    How do I check?

It used to work, and I haven't added anymore components to my PC, so I would assume the power draw is just as strained as it used to be when it worked.

It'll be written on your PSU somewhere, how many watts it supplies and what brand it is are all you need to know. After that you use one of the online "power supply calculators" to see how much power your PC uses.

Alternatively, you can unplug a lot of other unnecessary hardware and see if the problem goes away.
