A very clean standard MR2 GT-S Turbo Revision 2, astral black ;) 67K miles on the clock.
I was deliberating at first as it doesn't have the T-bar roof but after seeing about 20 photos of it I fell in love.

    From a mod at imoc.co.uk :D

History only of it's UK life but from a reputable importer and has been looked after and still in factory condition (except for light wear and tear). He's getting it MOT'd tomorrow

    :D :D :D

Looks nice...I'd like a newer rear drive coupe but I'm a Mopar owner exclusively. The Viper is just a bit out of my price range ;). How fast is the MR2?

Got a blue MR2 GT t-bar, great car but as was said earlier, any major work on the engine is a pig as you pretty much have to remove it from the car.

This one has had regular services and a new cambelt recently. The turbo boosts as it should. New tyres as well, good ones. The bloke who I'm getting it from really seems to love it. Picking it up Sunday :)

Thanks for all the info and help. This thread certainly sped things along a bit! Cheers :thumb:

Ive had 2 MR2's - absolutely loved them (uk spec mk1, jap G-ltd mk2). Really miss them. My advice is to go for a uk spec rev3 t-bar, 3.5k should buy you an m plate if you buy a clean one with sh privately. Reasons; stuff that broke on my import was very expensive to fix and parts at times were awkward even though folks say "its the same as a uk one", from experience i'd say its not true. Insurance is a fair bit more on an import, and history can be patchy. T-bar - obvious, plus full leather interior. Rev3 - looks nicer - e.g. nicer rear lights, colour coded trim, 174bhp 3sge engine. If you havent driven an MR2 before (or similar - i.e. weight balance) i'd say you have a fair chance - especially in winter - or crashing a turbo. Also a tubby will give you 170-220 miles out of a tank. Personally im going to get another MR2 soon - rev3 turbo - just as a weekend car - get one get one get one!!! You wont regret it. These cars are bullet proof if they've been taken care of - otherwise a money pit.

Drove it home yesterday. I'm still amazed that you can get a car like that for £3,300. It doesn't make sense. needs a good clean then i'll get some pics up.

the motorway mileage is actually pretty good if you stay off the boost, but it's sooo tempting :)

Nice one Mushky. You'll love the car i promise:)

Please please be careful in wet. You WILL loose the back end if you go mad on roundabouts/sharp turns. You need to be gentle with your right foot. Braking or lifting off mid corner is a no-no. It won't take long to get used to it and you'll be amazed at the speeds the car will do in the twisties.

I had a mk1 mr2 before my mk2 turbo, and i had a few hairy moments in that. Once around a huge roundabout and once turning into a tight corner. Both times i was lucky enough to be going very slowly and had time to catch the rear but i shat myself each time.
It made me a better driver and made me respect the car.
Then i had 2 glorious years and 20,000 miles with my rev 1 turbo without a hiccup.

As i said you will love the car. I never got bored with mine but you also have to watch your speed! The car will always seem begging to be driven faster! Just watch out for camera's!!

Dont ya just love hearing that big turbo spool up just behind your head? I probably spend half the time with the radio off just listening to the turbo/engine noise.

Ahh now i'm all envious of you now!! hehe

It's such a shame that i need a car with rear seats now :sigh:

EDIT: Oh don't forget that it MUST be run with Super Unleaded RON97 or above. Normal unleaded WILL give you problems. Trust me.

Thanks mate :) I love it already!

I'm taking it really careful at the moment, only accelerating when it's pointing straight. When the weather gets a bit better i'll get to know it a bit better.

I'll only be putting shell optimax in, don't worry :) I'm used to that with my scirocco. It's used to having an oil change every 3K miles. Mobil 1 no less - that stuff costs a fortune doesn't it? maybe theres a cheaper alternative but i dont want to give it any less than its used to.

it's in great condition inside and out! i think i have done really well here, it seems mechanically sound as well. fingers crossed!

i would be looking out of the window at it all day at work if i could, but it's too low! can just about see the top of the roof.

Really pleased with it, thanks everyone for the help!
