i got my 6800LE today, as promised by seller it unlocks to 12/6, and i thought i would overclock aswell to get every ounce of performance from the card, i downloaded and installed coolbits2 reg file, but everytime i make an increment even if its +2MHz or -2MHz it says "Test Failed" and reverts to default core clock of 300 and wont let me overclock :(

what could be the problem? are there any other tools i can use to overclock?

    Rivatuner2 15.7 to unlock
    coolbits2 reg
    forceware 81.95

Use rivatuner to clock. Follow the instructions in the sofmodding sticky. You need to enable some options in the advanced settings menu to get overclocking working properly :)

sorry to be a pain but i just cant seem to find the overclocking part on rivatuner, ive did everything in the softmod sticky, but cant find the clock frequencies in rivatuner.

In the above pic, theres a lttle arrow in the bottom pane next to the "forceware detected" - by "customize" click that and its the first button

i personally use Rivatuner to enable driver based overclocking, then do it all within the display driver. As a start point you can hit the "detect optimum frequencies" button to give you a starting point.

hey guys, new problem i think. ive got a fair few systems and gfx cards. now on this very same system here ive tested all cards, but wht im finding difficulty to understand is why nfsmw is choppy/laggy on the 6800LE (12x5 325/700) my 9800pro is smooth on exact same settings, even on the lowest quality settings and on auto detect settings the game is choppy. what could be the problem?

i didnt need to use driver cleaner as i have 2 hds with os's installed on them both for the testing on this system.

    any advise would be appreciated.
