I'm moving away from solely having an online portfolio for my photography. I wasn't getting a mass of hits, so I'm branching out and starting to use my website as a news/tech blog. Hopefully I'll start putting up guides and project pages. I'm revamping the layout, please bear in mind that this is an on-going process and this isn't the finished product. This is where you guys come in. I would love feedback and suggestions. I don't want to roll-out loads of features then realise they're not good/ready/usable or wanted. My current design. http://www.crushed-core.com New layout, with Google Adsense placed after first post. http://www.crushed-core.com/test/index.html Second option, Google ad box placed under the left hand menu (menu will be added to and updated). http://www.crushed-core.com/test/upright.html So questions. What do you guys prefer? Ads inline, or seperate? Loads more features are on the drawing board, but please suggest anything that you might like to see. Also regarding my current gallery. http://www.crushed-core.com/gallery.html. Do you find it usable? I would like to migrate it over to the new site, so any advice/suggestions regarding it would be nice. Thank you.
Well I'm going away for the weekend but I'd still like to hear from you guys. Also, looked at the template as a Wordpress theme http://www.crushed-core.com/wordpress
Why other bother with ads at all. You prob arent getting enough visitors to make it worth you while...
I'm confused - did you make the template? Or are you simply asking for a critique on the ads (as the WordPress theme is from arcsin.se)?
Atomic; I get a fair few hits at the moment to just my portfolio. Lazlow; I didn't make the template. I was mainly asking about what people thought about ad placement. I prefer Google Ads over others as they're less intrusive.
In that case - I prefer the layout with the ads below the left navigation - as there's a lot of whitespace there that can accomodate it.
