I have recently emptied an old storage unit of mine and in there I found my old PC. It was a fairly average PC in it's day and I am wondering if there is still any life to be coaxed out of her or if I should give it away... She runs an E6600 processor with an Intel DP965LT Mobo. From what I gather of the Mobo it allows a 'burn in' mode in BIOS but very limited OC, if you even call it that... So really I'd like to know what it could be good for (if anything) or what upgrades I'd need to make to render it a useful machine. Upgrading Mobo and or processor spring to mind, as well as functions such as NAS, Home Theater and render node - although she is a little noisy...
Split it up and sell it? Or else a new cooler and SSD and have it as a nice quite machine for office work?
