    Hi everyone

I think it's about time my aged machine had a bit of a boost and I was wondering what you guys thought would be the best route.

I am a music production student so will want something with plenty of RAM capability and CPU threads because some of the sample libraries and SoftSynths I use are rather RAM and CPU intensive not to mention Pro Tools itself!

Haven't really kept up with the computer world of late so don't know whats changed, but I think I would prefer an Intel based system - they've never let me down before.

So if any of you could advise a bare-bones system (CPU, mobo, RAM and possibly an SSD) that'd be grand.

Remember I am a student so although I understand the importance of quality components, I have to think about my rent :/

    Cheers guys.

    What's your budget?

    - Intel Core i5 3570K
    - Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H
    - Corsair Vengeance (low-profile) 1600MHz CL10, either 2x4GB or 2x8GB
    - Samsung 830, either 128GB or 256GB

I'm not entirely sure if your rig is worth upgrading, it's still pretty capable. An SSD would be a nice boost though.
