I am using a Danger Den MC-TDX block with a 1155 top-plate in my rig (Z77, i7-3770k). I've heard some whispers that my block is not designed for current gen CPUs, that it is not an effective shape/sign/design.

Is there any truth to this? Should I upgrade to a new block or am I fine the way I am?

    Thanks!

Depends on your load temps. If they're OK then I wouldn't bother. At a guess you'd probably get a 4-10ºC improvement with a more modern, high end block.

I have an Aquacomputer Cuplex block dating from about the same period as the DD and it only had about 4ºC higher load temps on a 4.2GHz i7 920 than a Heatkiller 3.0.
