    Hi All,
With Christmas coming around we're thinking about getting Sky+ to help keep up with the festive TV overload. I've seen a lot of Sky+ boxes for sale, how easy is it to buy one on your own and fit it? Is it the best option or would we be better off getting a HDD/DVD recorder and hooking it up to the Sky digibox?
I appreciate any advice you can offer,
    ~Awoken~

Not too easy seeing as you need an extra cable running up to your dish, also you need an extra subscription for it not sure if sky would let you do it unless you bought the box from them?

Sky+ is far and away the easiest setup for recording tv I've used. It's also incredibly easy to bung a larger capacity hdd in. You should easily be able to put a dual or quad lnb on the dish and run another cable in. You'd then ask Sky to upgrade your subscription and you'd get the two feeds through the dish.

Although, have you rung Sky and see what deal they could do for you? I.e. installation/box/channels?
