yeah I got the 2500 not the 2500k I'm not ready for overclocking yet. I just want to make sure that I can get this lot working first as i'm new to this game. I figured that if I want to get into overclocking i'll save a bit ,and get a faster cpu to overclock.
for only $20 more, the 2500k with its unlocked multiplier gets you so much more CPU for your money. even if you leave it running at stock speeds for now, as your PC ages and more power is needed, you have the option of cranking up the CPU to gain speed by an order of magnitude. and really, overclocking on sandy bridge is dead easy.
wehey, well done!, sandy bridge chips are so easy to overclock you've just got to have a go and I am sure there will be plenty of people happy to help you (including myself) overclock your system once you get it up and running
Do you mind if I ask a stupid question do I need to get any cables or do they come with the products? like the hard drive for instance. i5 2500k Asus p8p67 pro r3 Be quiet, dark rock advanced cooler Samsung hd103sj spinpoint f3 1tb samsung sh-s223 22xdvd +/- rw sata optical drive corsairxms3 classic 4gb
all the cables you need come with the power supply or the motherboard, you may also have a sata data cable included with the hard drive or the optical drive, if not the motherboard should have plenty, only thing you might need to get is a 8 pin extension cable, as some time the 8 pin doesn't always reach if you have a bottom mounted power supply
humm iv'e got the p8p67 mb and ive got a Samsung SpinPoint F3 Desktop Class HD103SJ now do i connect it into the sata ATa 6.0 or ATA 3.0?
doesnt really matter since that drive wont fill either pipe. most people connect it to port 0, which is a 6gb/s port.
another stupid question, iv'e got it all build now, so when i power up do i install my operating system first before i put the driver disc in for the motherboard?
yep. dont forget to go into BIOS and switch your SATA controller(s) from IDE legacy mode to AHCI first.
