The problem I have with this is that the US government will have no qualms about extracting information from "internet companies" on the identity of anyone disagreeing with their own brand of Democracy™. Hasty legislation doesn't really help make people more tolerant of each other, and this is coming from the wrong country to point the finger; it's Cold War tactics all over again. America's chosen to do a tremendous amount of business with China; if they're so unsavoury, why sleep with the enemy?
