Okay, I know there used to be lines you could call from anywhere and initiate a conference call with anyone else who called that line. (After all, nearly every phreaking article from pre-95 talks about them ) But do they still exist? Are there better options now? I ask because I'm starting a project at uni, which is 45-minutes from my home, and my partners aren't as "enthusiastic" about the computer as I. For example, I can email my partners and not recieve a reply for several days... But while I have their numbers, I'd much rather us all be able to talk together instead of having to call each person and repeat the whole thing... make sense? Note that only one person in the group lives on campus, the rest of us are spread out over the area, so the rest of the group talking then calling me isn't an option either. Tschuess, Ubermich
They're still around...somewhere. I haven't been on a conference for awhile now, but the last time I did, it cost money for the conference. Let's just say I was never the one who set up the conference.
They still exist but I'm not sure how much they cost, if anything. The company I work for has IT departments in quite a few cities and we have to use conference numbers to get them all in on meetings. Could get the company name for you but there's no telling what they spend on each call, this company has a nasty habit of spending incredible ammounts on stuff that's not all that usefull.
What's wrong with msn, irc chans, video messaging/conferencing? sure they may not be so happy about 'puters but call each one in turn.. and get them to come online at same time and use msn or something..
