im just wondering what ya put into google to find that link i dunno why theyd be surprised, cos it was bound to happen sooner or later....
I'm suprised it hasn't happed before. Surley they have really strict tests on the 'actors' before they 'perform'?
I recall on Louis Theroux's documentary of the LA porn scene the 'actors' have HIV tests quite regularly, at least once a month I'm sure.
Even if they did have test every month, HIV takes time to incubate, and time for the anitbodies to build up enough to show in a test. (they cant test for the virus directly they have to look for the bodies antibodies.) IN that short period (a month or so I believe) all of the people he was "with" could have contracted it.
well.. that's their fault.. they all knew this could happen.. and it had to happen.. one day... and now it happend.. I'm not sad because they have to stop working..
That's a bit harsh really. It's just a job after all, however immoral you consider it. They could easily have got an in-cureable disease that could eventually lead to a slow and painful death. If someone was in the army and had both of their legs blown off, what would you say then? They knew it could happen but doesnt make it any better does it. And besides, even if they havent got HIV, if a porn star can't work what are they going to do. They are unlikely to be able to get another job. It may not be a big deal to you, but for them it's their life and livelyhood.
It was on the UK national news (BBC and everything, none of that advertising funding ITV stuff).. It made me laugh, not because I'm sick or don't feel sorry for the people that contracted it, but because of... There was this one actress who was clearly a touch slow and she said that the industry doesn't close for Christmas, why should it close for HIV? The news guy was all nice, but he sooo should have asked whether the actress thought you could catch Christmas off someone you work with on a daily basis and whether it'll provide you & your children etc with a slow painfull death. But yeah, even people in that industry don't deserve to become HIV positive - sorry I thought this girl was funny...
