A waitress in the United States who found an envelope stuffed with more than $3,000 left behind by a customer resisted the temptation to pocket the money - and returned it to its rightful owner.

Now, Heidi Tomasi from Kansas is being rewarded for her honesty.

Ms Tomasi has subsequently been inundated with gifts of money after it emerged that she was heavily in debt from paying medical bills for her baby son.

It's nice to see that honesty pays :)

having viewed that video, does it remind anyone else of a 999 episode.

999 like youve been framed with medical advice

:) I saw parts of that news story the other day. It was definitely refreshing to see something other than robberies, murders, or other such typical stories about how awful the world is these days.

But it's sad that an instance of such honesty is so rare that it makes international news. :(

Or there was just nothing else to report on. I mean I can predict tomorrows headlines: Bush does not trust Irak, Suicide bombing somewhere in the world, Strike somewhere in the world. Oilprice drops. It is hard you know..........
