    Hi!

I got myself a neat iPod mini and everytime I atach it to my PC, this little box pops up saying the device could be much faster if attached to a highspeed USB port. Now I've looked in the BIOS and there's no option there for highspeed/fullspeed or anything, only USB 1.1/2.0 or USB 1.1 only or Disabled. I've installed all the latest updates for Win XP Pro and I've got all the newest drivers for my Mainboard ( Asus A7N8X Deluxe ).
I guess the problem is, that I don't have USB 2.0 support in Win XP Pro at the moment. So how can I activate that? I've treid installing all the updates, I've tried re-installing the mobo drivers and I've tried updating the BIOS but to no avail.
Anyone here able to help me?

    Cheers

    Fred

I have a feeling that I did through the device manager (control panel -->system) and then right clicked the Universal Serial bus controller and then update driver....

    Give it a go

USB 2.0 comes with service pack 2. If you dont install service pack 2 then you get no USB 2.0.

If its installed then put your motherboard cd in and check for a USB 2.0 driver refresh tool. If no tool then reinstall your USB 2.0 driver.

I have service pack 1 and have USB 2.0

You need a 2.0 compatible controller which Fred_S has on his motherboard, it is just awkward to install.

Cheers for the replies guys :)

I had a look around again and noticed that in my hardware amanger there was a USB port with a questionmark and the only option I could choose for this one was to install the drivers... so I tried that and chose auto-update the drivers and now I have USB 2.0 support... weird though... but thanks to all you guys!

    cheers

    Update your chipset drivers.

Well, if you've got it figured out it's fine, but that's what you needed to do.
