Hi just done a new build for someone and something odd is happening. If i insert mu usb hardrive, and i presume any other usb device, it comes up with a windows no disk error saying: There is no disk in teh drive. Please insert a disk into drive. The usb device functions perfectly but to get rid of the message you have to click either cancel try again or continue many many times, and then it'll just reappear in a minute or two no matter whether the device is in the usb port anymore or not. Possible relevant hardware: Mobo - MSI P35 Neo Sweex all in one 3.5" card reader (this i suspect is a problem as i havn't installed any driver for this, but its not showing as a device without driver, and the different memory card slots are listed as drives, but the usb port appears not to be working on the memory card reader) Running Vista Ultimate x64
I would agree that its probably a clash with the card reader. I have a card reader and I get the same message if I try to access one of the slots when there really isn't a card in it - as you'd expect. Seems like it's incorrectly interrogating the reader when you use USB storage. Un-plug the reader and see if it runs better. Out of interest what drive letters are assigned to the reader slots?
Hi the product exactly is Sweex cr005 (version 2), on sweex's site they have an xp driver, but according to a user review vista detects the hardware and gets the driver for you, vista hasn't done this for me. So i need either a vista driver for it which i'm struggling to find, or a way to force vista to look for it (which according to user reviews it should've done) I'm begging for help i need to finish this by tomorrow morning (thursday GMT) Many thanks
