It may be one of the mp3 players that doubles as a USB thumb drive?

Try just dragging and dropping the files into the player, and see if it reads them and plays them like normal.

ok i thing your mp3 player is not supported by napster because your mp3player should show up under disk drives because in a sense a mp3 player is just a flash drive and it has a player builtin to read mp3 files somebody might be able to help if you post what your mp3 player is. I dont know why media player doesnt see it because media player sees my flash drive as a media device

    @ zephyr: it doesnt.

@ casyblackburn: its the Napster/Samsung yp-910. napster definatly supports it. i had it working already. it was listed under USB controllers in the device manager until i updated the driver through windows. then it went up to 'disk drives' and all of a sudden napster cant see it.

so basicaly i need to remove it from disk drives. but simply right-clicking and "uninstall" doesnt work. is there any other way to remove/uninstall it from there?

Go through your Device Manager and uninstall all drivers. Then, unplug it and restart. Once restarted, plug it in, and the computer should recognize it as a completely new device. Install the right drivers, and it should be good to go.
