Guys, I've got an external usb disk caddy thing with a sata laptop hard drive in it. The drive connects to windows no problem but my Debian install won't detect it. Its not showing up in dmesg or under /dev. I should note it will automount a flash stick no problems.

    Any ideas?

Edit: Never mind... Looks like it was the servers usb ports not supplying enough juice. The drive came with a double ended usb plug that I decided to try and utilised both plugs. Works fine now...
