I recently picked one up from mappers that claims 1920x1080 support, will find out make / model for you tomorrow.

    Maplin Code A26GH - Petite USB KVM - CS-62U

I've had no problems with mine so far supports multi button mice as well.

The resolution that one supports isn't mentioned - whereas this (admittedly more expensive) Sitecom one definitely supports up to 1920 x 1440 :thumb:

The Aten Petite one I mentioned definitely supports up to 2048x1536 I know this because I'm looking at the manual right now.

    Fair enough :cooldude:

But I didn't know that until now, and I don't have the benefit of the manual :D

I never even thought there's such resolution limitations on KVMs! Good point, I've been using my D-link DKVM-2KU at 1680x1050 resolution when it's specified at 1600x1200. That's not a major difference in 1600 and 1680 though so I'm not surprised it works fine.

(BTW I'm using my monitor through analog input)

    DKVM-2KU

hi can some help me please! i just got DKVM-2KU, the problem is i have a dell computer which keyboard and mouse connection is usb, the other computer keyboard and mosue connection is ps/2. How can i solve this? i tried to connect everything up and connected my mouse (usb) to the device to see whether this will work (if it did i would have purchased a usb hub and have my keyboard and mouse connected to that) however the DKVM-2KU only boots if the ps/2 connectors are connected.

so now im thinking the keyboard and mouse are ubs so is there a adoptor which i can connect the device to and change it to ps/2 connection? or do i need to get a ps/2 connection mouse and keyboard? if so how does this connect to my dell pc because that is usb only no ps/2 ports!!! someone please help!!!:duh:

Avocent Switchview is what you need...

I had a four-port VGA KVM from them that ran up to 1920*1200 with not a peep of complaint. It also had a USB hub and audio switching, which was nice. It also supported USB keyboard & mouse but with limited support for 'extra' buttons, so I used the USB hub ports instead. Rock solid bit of kit, but hard to find due to limited distribution.

I recently switched to a Switchview DVI, which is equally awesome apart from being a bit finicky about the way it's initially powered up - I end up leaving it powered on all the time.

The only good bit of Belkin kit I've ever encountered are their network cables, which are nicely made but very expensive. Anything with actual chips or moving parts - forget it.

Jay - sounds like you need some of the little green / purple USB->PS2 adaptors like these? Back in the day you used to get them with every decent USB keyboard or mouse to prevent exactly the problem you're having. If you have a mate with a big box of old PC clag he'll probably have some, if not they're a quid or two off ebay. Just search for usb ps2 adaptor.
