Hiya Everyone, right just a quick one. i know i have seen this done somewhere but i cant think where i saw it. waht it is is, is there a way that when i plug a usb cable into a usb port, a LED lights up??? and then when the cable is removed it turns off again. plz help me, thanks chris
Cable or plug? Cable is easy, just install an LED and resistor between +5v and GND lines. Plug is slightly trickier. What you need to do is drill a hole somewhere on the plug (obviously so that it doesn't destroy any of the contacts) and install a micro-switch that'll switch on an LED when USB plug is inserted.
or place the LED inline with the 5v line, that way when the current passes though the deivce it will illuminate, take a mA or so from the device, but hey....
