I got a new small case for some old parts I have knocking about. Unfortunately due the the exhaust fans location, I'm unable to connect the front USB headers. I didn't think this to be an issue as I have a spare PCI slot and managed to purchase one of these cards:

However the connection block for the front headers has one hole blocked, this would match perfectly with the headers on the Asus board which has a key way with one pin missing (5pin). The internal card I received through the post has 6 pins! Firstly is this normal; should I cut one pin off lol?

    Thanks :thumb:

looks like it has normal 5 pins each.. make sure pin 4 is ground and cut off the right pin- those last 2 aren't even connected to anything.. you can probably look at the board and see

if you cut off the wrong end you won't get any power

Thanks for that, I think I can see where two pins, if you follow the green tracks, they lead nowhere. I'm going to get a second opinion before the pliers come out...thanks again!
