Going from KRONOS's thread here: http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=255420 An interesting concept, so, turning it on its head, what are the Words/Phrases/Idioms that you actually find helpful and good advice? If it doesn't work there is something wrong Pretty simple, and applicable to almost everything in everyday life. Rather obvious, but also easy to forget in the heat of the moment. Needs must when the devil drives (needs must) (Blackaddedr: Needs must when the devil pisses in my kettle) I take this as its always better to get stuff over and done with as quickly as possible, rather than waiting and worrying. It might suck in the short term, but it makes everything better in the end.
Free advice is seldom cheap 59th rule of Acquisition... Worth remembering if a shop offers you a free test, or Kwik-fit invite you in for a free MOT or battery test.
Lol - I love the Rules of Acquisition A particular favourite is #112 "Never have sex with the boss' sister"
One I've used them at work when someone says a shop round the corner has the same item cheaper but they don't have them in stock. "I give them away when I don't have them"
Buy Cheap, buy twice Though most of the time I've found that the alternate also holds true: Buy expensive, still buy twice So have combined these into: Buy cheap, buy twice, but buy expensive, buy twice, so you may as well just buy twice cheap to start with, and get it all out in the open.
If you don't ask, you'll never get. - The amount of people who 'wait' for things to happen for them or expect people to do x, y & z for them. No harm in asking the majority of the time.
