Do you think it would work? This is my first mod and I'm Using a Skyhawk MSR4610. My dad seems to think the router will work (he works on boats so he can just borrow one from work) but i'm not so shure. Please help.

as long as your using the right cutting tool, it most definatly will.

however i doubt you will get as good results as with using a hole saw.

The router had a carbide bit so I don't think it'll butcher the aluminum and my dad borrowed a couple of hole saws from his job to make templates (can't use then for the window cuz they're too old and dull to make it through aluminum) so I think it might be okay.

As long as you have a good template and a sharp carbide bit you should be ok. I'd recommend using some kind of lube as well, cause aluminum gets 'gummy' when you machine it. If you're planning on making quite a few holes, the template and router combo is king! Are you going to use a plunge-base router, or just cut a starter hole near the edge?

Drop us a few progress pics and let us know how it turns out!
