Hey guys, I have a few old fans, the kind that use 2 prong connectors into the powersupply. I was wanting to add another fan into the powersupply on my old computer, theres sufficient space and all, but I have no were to plug it in. I cant exactly just connect a molex to it because its only got the red and black wires.... Any idea what I need to do? I was thinking i could take the connector tips off and connect the red and blacks together because my friend said the yellow wires are useless neways, but I don't exactly trust his word=) Any help would be usefull, thx IvAn
so.. simple solution: stick the red wire into the yellow wire on the molex, stick the black wire on one of the blacks on the molex. then you wrap it in elextrical tape or something. if you want something fancy, get a male molex connector, or better yet, build a fanbus.
Yeah, thats how I did it. I am using an 80mm fan from a powersupply from an old (and I do mean OLD) Mac. Works great, its really quite, and it shoves about 3/4 the air through its blade than my other ones do. Not bad considering its over 10 years old. AstrumProelaitor "Narf©"
