Hey guys, Just a qucik question here really, but something that becomes really annoying for me when I cut stuff. Say I've got a window template or something, I align it all so its straight, apply masking tape to cover the entire thing and to secure it to the panel. I take my drill to it, put a hole in and then slide in the jigsaw. but as soon as I begin cutting the paper rips up all over the place, and I can no longer correctly see the line I am supposed to be cutting (like I would if it just stayed down firmly.) :: I am also using the correct blades. Is there any tips, or ways on how I can prevent this?? Thanks, cool_dude
So with this it wont keep ripping and moving all about, resulting in the template being pretty much useless?
Here how it works for me: - Cover the item you wish to cut with masking tape. - Secure the template in the desired position. - Apply the cutting lines from the template by drawing on top of them - dont forget to keep a certain pressure while drawing - Remove template and redraw the lines directly on the masking tape. - Make a hole and cut. Different approach: - Prepare a template where you do the cuts ( i recommend you use something sturdier than a plain paper - cardboard perharps ). - Cover the item you wish to cut with masking tape. - Secure the template in the desired position. - Take a spraycan and spray the template - not soaking the item with paint - just do the outlines. - Remove template and let the paint dry. - Make a hole and cut. I wish i had some images to illustrate - hope i was able to explain myself well enough.. Happy Modding
