I swear, if I hear one more thing about the arizona shooting (which seems to be popping up in every gun related article) I am going to go on rampage myself. Stupid liberal media pounding that BS as hard as they can really gets my goat. The ****ing guy was mentally unstable! Anyway, good. Gotta teach this new generation that guns have made us what we are - free. And not just the fact of the weapon, but the men and women that have died to make it so wielding those weapons. I would love to get a hold of a 1911 just for the fact its an awesome piece. It'll sit well next to my various other armaments - as I protect myself from our ever growing insane government.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't like Mr. Browning and his M1911. It's a solid side arm and fun to shoot. And, alongside the Hi-Power, a classic in the genre. But this is just stupidity. I think, honestly, that there is a race on to out stupid each other on the political right.
Utah politics, no shortage of people who don't know what they're doing. This " State ______ " seems to have gotten out of hand quite awhile ago though http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._state_foods
Utah is all messed up politically, it is however kinda a cool concept. Mr. Browning was an exceptional designer and would be nice to honor that Open season on cats in utah http://www.outdoorlife.com/blogs/newshound/2011/01/utah-declare-open-season-cats
I would prefer the Browning 50 cal to be representative of our state. Powerful, enduring, and delightfully phallic. Also, $17 billion!?!? No wonder our country is in such dire financial straits, it's all these damned feral cats eating our songbirds.....
This is outrageous. Everyone knows that my state grows more peaches in one county than the entire state of Georgia!
Have to say, I love the 1911. Distinctive sound, nice weight and a proud history. You certainly couldn't have the Beretta 92F or anything newer. Let them do it. Utah's already got Mormons and polygamy...
We almost had "Louie, Louie" as our state song at one point. We also have a state dance I believe. If it were me I would have chosen the Hi-power. The 1911 has probably killed more of our troops with it's safety issues than it has the enemy.
But it's so customisable! And so many different versions have a different safety arrangement. Besides, nobody makes a good .45 anymore. It's all pissy small things, or **** off big ones. It deserves it's place just for it's sheer longevity.
I think Britain should choose a state gun (I use state in the proper sense here) just to remind the world how aewsome we must be to win two world wars with such rubbish weapons.
Yeah, the guy was mentally unstable alright. Whereas keeping a gun collection in preparation of a potential shoot-out with your government is totally rational. The whole concept of a 'state gun' is puerile. It is like a having a chrome bull bar with horns and extra lights on your pick-up. At some point you're supposed to outgrow that ****.
