Nah, it would HAVE to be the Enfield. Probably the finest bolt action rifle ever made, and you won two world wars with it. Plus, everything you've used since then has been borrowed or licensed :p

Yeah, that works. Think of the poor countries who don't have a proud history of gun manufacture! Whatever will they do for a state icon? :sigh:

Yep, he had schizophrenia so was clearly mentally unstable and a murderer. It's this sort of attitude from the media and the public that really annoys me. The lack of understanding about mental health amongst the public is ridiculous. Were you aware that those with mental health issues are more likely to be a victim than a perpetrator of violent crime? i thought not, as that doesn't go with the nice media line of mental health issues = unstable.

Why can't we look beyond the perpetrator and instead at the system in which this ws allowed to happen?

I have to second the BMG50 cal Its FREEKING Awesome to shoot, nothing like sitting behind an automatic weapon that can cut a brick building in half, and its the oldest weapon still in continuous use in the military. (REALLY AWESOME WEAPON):thumb: But the 1911 is a good second choice. For the Brits i have to agree with the Engfield I have a 1918 and it is a very durable/ reliable weapon.
As for the whole shooting thing most crimes are committed by people that cant leagely buy a gun any way. Most of the time its not the person that registers their gun and buys it leagely that you need to worry about its the people that buy them on the streets. Enough said.

I've always thought it's a bit funny when people discuss the mental health of violent criminals. The guy goes up to a crowd of people and opens fire. That sounds pretty mentally unhealthy right there, whether the schizophrenia had anything to do with it or not.

You can both be right, we just hear more about the violent stuff in the news than the other.

1.Well, I tend to disagree with you. I'll be damned if I will be complacent on how my government tells me to live. And if the **** does ever hit the fan, which I hope doesn't happen, I'll have a chance at least to protect myself and my family. Can you say such a thing about your current government really at all? I want our government to fear the populace (IE me) for a reason.

    2. Its a pride thing, which is fine in all things when considering the fact we have built and used much more terrifying weapons (nukes, if you want). At least it isn'ta nuke, that would just come off as really cocky! :D
