A novelty that would quickly wear thin as you maintain the daily cleaning routine.

Having to do a weekly 'de dust' of my Corsair 450 case is bad enough, this would drive me to distraction TBH.

That 980 looks awfully close to the back of the PSU!

Apart from the obvious draw backs of an exposed PC (I would personally have a perspex over-case) I would have thought that for nigh on £2k they could at least use custom cables of the exact required lengths rather than use generic cables and cable ties... just seems lazy for that level of money.

Those pointless red plastic (I assume) clip things on the frame also make it look awful, especially when wonky (1 upper rear) or missing (3 from top) as is the case in the first 2 images on page 1.

It's like nobody here has ever seen a D-frame before?

Also, why do people always bring up open cases as being dust traps? From my own experience they tend to be the opposite. If I compare the dust build up on Loramentum with my workstation in a normal case, Loramentum is just so much cleaner. Do you guys just live in really dusty environments or something?

The only real drawback with open air style cases IMO is that your components aren't protected from things much, which is a consideration if you have young children or enthusiastic pets. Those are pretty legitimate reasons, but they also don't apply to everybody.

Yeah, but only watercooled ;) I hadn't twigged until this point that the GPU would be sucking on the PSU! I suppose the lack of an enclosure would help airflow, though.

The positioning of the PSU vs the GPU is almost comical. It looks like it (The PSU) was added as an afterthought.

All that work, and then they go and ziptipe up the individually sleeved wiring. What a shame - this system could have really done with some cablecombs.

(Well, and hard-line acrylic tubing, but that's suicidal in a mass manufactured rig)

It's the equivalent of painting the microwave, or overclocking the washing machine

Yes, Kittens liked the heated, purring walk-in closets that big-towers with an open side door represented. :D
Always wondered how they avoided getting pulled into the horrible fans we had back then.
