The Inq Hack formally known as Haz has been pondering on how the open ended HL2 plot will be continued, and who'll you'll be playing next time round:

NEW DETAILS have emerged about Valve's plans for the continuance of the Half-Life 2 plot saga.

Those who have completed the game will know that it's left wide open for a follow-up expansion pack. PC Gamer magazine, an offline publication, reports that the pack will be titled 'Aftermath' and is scheduled for the summer.

Many thought that the player would assume the role of Alyx Vance for the follow-up, but it seems that she will instead play a much greater role in your adventures, but alongside the player character, who may or may not be Gordon. The game is set, perhaps unsurprisingly, a little after the events of the first, as the player gets to grips with the consequences of events that were set rolling.

More, as usual, if you pick up your crowbar and follow the L'inquage

So she wasn't killed by the explosion at the end?

If Gordon isn't in it (with crowbar, of course), then what is the point?

PS: The first sentance contains spoilers, so don't read it if you have yet to complete the game.

I'm not 100% up-to-scratch with the graphics card market, but I thought that the race was more or less only between nVidia and ATI for the moment. So then how can one company use the "industry standard" while the other has a "kooky version"? Isn't it all a matter of perspective?

Just because ATI and nVidia make up 98% of the market doesn't mean the others don't count. There are still standards.
