    :D

It does make sense to open there system to others, it will make them a bit of cash, establish them as a content distributor (or whatever you wanna call it) and is also great news for smaller companys who dont have a massive audiences imediately to hand already... wether it be games, animated films or software.

I dont see why more software isnt done this way, you get the latest version straight off and dont need to mess around with updates and you dont need to keep a bunch a cd's and key around, it also makes it more convienient and hopefully cheaper, swaying some of the people over who use 'funny' software.

If they can crack it as a distributor theres gotta be some big money in it, it's looking like more people are wanting to go that way, and TBH theres some things I really wouldn't miss having a hard copy of.

The Ragdoll Kung-fu looks a bit ghetto, was it $15 summin, seems a bit steep :p

Back on topic... the zombie movie sounds like it will be worth downloading :)

Please excuse me if this doesnt make any sense, I went to bed at 4am and got up and 7:30am, I dont like getting up early :waah:

I like steam but I am concerened about the licence, I almost returned half life 2 because of it.

    Features steam should have:
abylity to roll back patches in case of problems (I coulden't play CSS for a week at one point!)

better sign in offline mode (my steam won't let me)

Less memory usage when idle! (it needs 15mb when doing nothing :O)

I have a question lets say you purchaced Half Life 2 online, you dont' disks and a key to worry about, great. Now what if for some reason your hard drive dies and you lose all the game files are you #$^% out of luck? If you have to reinstall your OS will you be able to just redownload and play like nothing happend? On other thing I know you can make a back up of your game file but is that not like going out and buying the game in the first place? I mean you will still have to keep up with a disk anyway. Soryr to sound like I am griping, I not, I just am not to sure how the whole online disturbution will work.

    nope

    yes

    true for all backups

the only way you would lose your account (and so your games) would be if you were to fall for a phishing scam or you managed to lose all of your account information (however I think even in these cases if you submit a support ticket and give certain information then you can get your account back).

hope this clears it all up for you :)

Kipman725 i was having some of the same problems as you, I found that it was because i had one of the origional steam installs. when I recently removed my old steam and downloaded the most recent installers it fixed all my probs and its now using about 5mb while idle.
