i have a 3/5" nexus in my rig now, but im noticing that when at full speed the fanspeed isnt constant. rather it stays full speed for s few seconds then it seems power is cut to it, then 1/2second later full power is applied again. i can hear the noise of the fans spinnign down and its REALLY annouying. is this normal behavior or should i be seeking an RMA? :worried:

when its on and between teh "power down cycles" the fan sounds like the power is pulsating. like its AC power not DC.i cant imagin this being normal.

if it means anything i have vrey long power cables on the fans in question. they are my radiator fans and i extended the wires to reach. theya re probably 2-3 feet long.

Run it, and when it starts dipping in and out, monitor your voltages. If they did, your cable is too long, your psu is underpowered or there's a gremlin inside unplugging it.
