Vantec Stealth Fans

    :sigh: i have a pair of these in 120mm, and for the noise level (yes they are audible), the airflow is pants (55.1 Cfm?). My friend has 120MM AOC Aluminum frame ones that push MUCH more air (around 80 CFM) with little to no noise....

    the 80mm ones look nice. 21db and 27cfm :) i might get some

    I got the 80mm Vantec Stealth (27cfm, claimed 21dBA) recently and found it very noisy in direct comparison with a Panaflo L1 (24cfm, 21dBA) and a YS-Tech FD1281252B-2A (27cfm, 20dBA). I got an Aerocool Chameleon (21.5cfm, 20dBA) the same day, quietest of all of them and very nice looking with the bloo leds, not the airflow of the others but it's not using a non-standard method to get the noise rating (as IMHO Vantec are). :eyebrow:

    The Vantec's quieter than the usual stock case fan, full stop. Nowhere near what the Vantec marketeers claim. :miffed:

    I'll be buying another Chameleon. :thumb:

    I think that's a fair assesment as I tried to make that point in the article without dragging all makes and models of fans out to make it. You could say, they are quiet by vantec standards. Prior models of vantec have been air performance based (the tornado is the loudest fan I have ever heard).

    I will say the 60mm's are the quietest of that size I have ever heard. But then, most of the others were cheap stock fans.
