just a question to the bit-tech community. with the vapochill cases. the ones that act like a fridge, is there a condensation problem with these (im talking bout the -10degree C case if ya kno what i mean) coz a mate wants 1 but a freind thinks that there will fry all the parts from condensation
there is a condensation problem; but that is solved with an evaporator. It evaporates the condensation on the CPU.
If improperly installed, there will be a condensation issue. The evaporator does not handle CPU area condensation. In essence, what prevents against condensation is the useage of small stick on pads to heat areas around the cpu, as well as a good amount of neoprane, again self sticking, which stops moisture from getting in there, along with insulating the surroundings from the intense cold. Finally, most will fill any gap they see as well as the centre of the socket with dialectric grease, as well as coat the pins of the chip in a NON CONDUCTIVE thermal grease to stop pin rot. Finally, the seal of the evaproator head and the cpu along with the neoprane around it is airtight.
*shrugs* steve's like a spongue for this lol. His next grand project... XP120 on the AXP... when i sell this hydrocool.
