Hello y'all, Yes i'm new here... Just to do my thing, been hanging around picking peoples ideas long enough , i have a bit of experience in different fields (model making, jewelry, set design/build for movies, prototyping) from the past. I was wondering if people here would be interrested in a more or less random, listing of all kinds of tips and tricks, with various materials? Just checking before i start, just in case i get myself all cobwebbed for no reason...
And bending, use a cloth or cotton ball or something with chloro on it, swab the plexi while putting it under pressure, and you can bend it.
Ok, ok, but this is going somewhere i didn't mean it to. Just checking for general interrest in tips. Surely other people know other things, then i do. Maybe share our knowledge in general here?
I agree totally. Sorry if I seem on edge. Kinda exhausted today. You can also use heat guns to bend plexi.
no worries... You're kind of into plexi ,no? -easy bending aluminium: heat it with a torch untill it scorches paper when you touch the aluminium with it. (when the paper looks burned without setting fire to it), let it cool down slowly. Like butter. apply changes desired... Harden it again: put it in the oven @ 150 degr. C. for two days. (yes, ask your mum) seems we're the only ones here though...
ah chloroform don't you just love that smell (sniffs).............................................................................................. ....................................................................................................... ....................................................................................................... ....................................................................................................... ..........................(wakes up 3 hours later) what happened when using a drimmel or cutting use a eye glasses and a face mask (for your lungs) you will live longer
- the stuff isn't that bad, it's basicly the same as any solvent... ever thought of what would happen if you'd breath through a cloth soaked in paint thinner for a minute????? -> cars don't kill, it's the people driving them In general: using Anything solvent, including Bondo ( which is polyester, known to cause cancer, get a proper facemask. Not one of those Micheal Jackson ones, the real ones that set you back 20 to 30 euros. They're worth it... And if you don't want to spend the money, or think yourself invincible (like me), work outside, or close to an open window. And put your workpiece in a different room while setting.
Anybody ever needing any kind of face mask should google for new pig. It's a chemical spill prevention/clean up company, and they have some of the best face masks in the world (not just ultra high range either)
always wash up after yourself or the pile gets bigger and bigger trust me i know, now wheres my phone to call mum to do the washing up
Well, I myself would be extremely interested, I'm an artist , but I don't have any particular background in what you have, so I think I would be able to carry over tips well if they were listed, vary interested indeed.
