if i am not wrong its no prob for the hdd to be mounted vertical. as i recall in lian li cases there is a mounting for vertical use. just dont turn the hdd vertical while spinning.

No, there's loads of cases out there which mount them in strange positions, and the heads are strong enough to resist gravity I'm sure, so I wouldn't worry about it!

IIRC horizonal and vertical, even upside down, are all ok as long as you don't tilt them by more than ~5 degrees.

    fieuw tx guys

well I just bought a fanless cpu heatsink for my dad, and it got quite hot in the beginning, and then we first opened the case, cause there wasnt any nois that could be annoying.

That made the temp drop, but I thought that it might help to make sure that the heatpipes were vertical because of the steam insite... bla bla
and so I placed it vertical but after I placed the pc back vertical the hdd makes a weired noise when its seeking.

It just has to keep working :p

    Ciao

:thumb: If it's important to you then check the manufacturer's specifications for the drive which is often available somewhere on their websites. I wouldn't expect it to be a problem myself.

It really shouldn't sound any different. Definitely check the specifications to make sure your particular model is meant to work vertically.
