I just got a new video card, a MSI 6600GT, and all seems fine, it runs the games and benchmarks great. Now onto the problem when the computer is just sitting there the GPU runs at ~55C and when it is under a full load ie. during a benchmark it runs around 75-80C. and i dont think this is just a glitch in the temp program because the card is so hot i cannot touch it for very long without it burning me. Does anyone else with this card have these same temps or does anyone think this is a defective card?

let me edit that i was just running this

and i saw the temps up at 91C and the card felt like a hot plate!!!

Thats normal IIRC. Videocards have a higher heat tolerance,

My old 6600GT ran over 100c load, and no problems. GPUs tend to run a lot hotter, 80c is totally fine. In fact they don't kick in thermal throttling to 127c or something (135 on 6800gts)
