If you've only got a single 5 1/4" bay, I think 2 lines is your max height. As far chars per line - you should get a 24 char in, as my 20 char display fits easily.

The limiting factor is the size of the PCB on the back of the display. Have a look on MO, and see if they have the dimensions quoted. Then measure to see if it fits.

If you have got more than one bay free, I believe MO do a double height mount, which takes 4x20 displays.

    I think so!

    It'll do nicely until I hit 250...

You say floppy bay? I've only seen one display that'll fit comfortably in a floppy bay - 2x20 £12 from www.farnell.com (order a catalogue, you'll never find it online).

If you're willing to sacrifice a drive bay I'd go for their wide-voltage (-4BR) 2x20 - tis a lovely display :D (and will be reviewed on my site soon)...

    Cheers,

go to their website, find their telephone number, ring it, ask for one.

    Easy as pie.

    ok......
i called up the number from the sight and apparently they don't deal with shipping and since i am in the U.S. i am pretty much screwed because i had a difficult time understanding what the dude was saying because he had a accent (not that accents are bad, but i am just a silly american with virgin ears)....

    but thanks anyway...

oh sorry... if you'd filled your location in seriously then we wouldn't have this problem :p

ok I've yet to hear of a cheap vfd source in the states... though cheap // lcd's are easy to find. if I wer eyou I'd stretch my budget to a serial MO display though (and you'll have to use a 5.25 bay or cut a hole in your case...

    Cheers,
