    temps

how are the temps in that case
after i read ur article i was inspired to make my own case like that
however it will look different cuz im not gonna copy peoples ideas
i have watercooling for cpu, gpu, and chipset so im not to worried about the temps
my other question is does the wood muffle the noise of the fans

Sent you a reply via email but for anybody else interested:

My design has one 120mm fan drawing air in and another one on the
opposite side pushing air out. I haven't really checked temps in a long time
but if I remember right when I first built it, I had idle temps of 38C and load
temps of 47-48C. Pretty good for air cool. I don't have any overclocking going on in this case though.

My main concern was quiet operation. It makes virtually no sound

back when I made this, pcmods sold them individually. Since then, just finding the trays have been a bugger to find. Of course, since then, pcmods.com went for sale and I don't think they offer them any longer.

    Eh, thanks anyways.

I've been thinking of doing a custom case for a while, maybe if some of these ideas will stop bouncing around inside my head and actually get put into technical drawings I'll email lian-li and see what they can do for me.

    Thanks for the help :thumb:

What are the outer dimensions of this case, Eddie? It looks huge compared to your son :worried:
The reason why I'm asking is that I plan to start a similar HTPC project myself, also using wood and acrylic.

Hey, first of all, awesome project :)
Im thinkin about making a case very similar to this one for my HTPC that Im building as a birthday present for me.

Anyways I have a question. How solid is the bond between the wood and acrylic layers? Like do you have any worries about the layers coming apart ever or not? And which specific one of the loctite glues did you use? Cause I did some googleing, and theres like 50 diff types.

    Thanks
    Sean
