Should check for ticks too mate. Took three or four out of our kitty last year. Oh and one out of my OH's calf too.
Ticks have never been a problem for us and, the vet had a good look. Also, the prescription tablets are much more effective than the off the shelf drops, like the Frontline I had been using.
Vets say they are under pressure to bring in more money per pet https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c62zzegvk33o I guess this will come as a surprise to absolutely no one.
Recieved a message from the vet yesterday, telling me the cat is due for vaccination soon. I phoned to enquire the price, it's up 27% from last year. I then tried looking for an independent vet and, the nearest one is 27miles away. My cat really doesn’t like being in the car at all so, have to stay with the local chain vet…
After my dog got cancer I blasted through all £6k of the insurance, £7k once it had ran out and including the 20% I had to pay on all bills due to his age until the new one kicked in, all of the next £6k and then another £3.5k on top again.. It was 11 months of prolonged pain and suffering that seemed unavoidable but in reality really wasn't. Ultimately that will never happen again and if it should, I shall instead do what I can to make my other dog happy until the funds run dry or it becomes too much. vets lead you on with this sort of thing, preying on your love for you buddy rather than putting the animals best interests at heart. Disgusting practice tbf.
