Modding VFD or LCD???

    which do you ppl think is better and why a LCD or a VFD?

    VFD - Better contrast, no ghosting so updates are quicker and sharper.

    i prefer lcd tbh - had a couple of vfd's - just not convinced they look cool enough .... ie just remind me of old calculators ...

    I dislike VFD's because thier intensity fades over time, and they are also not readable in sunlight.

    Oooo wait a while, got 2 new VFD's from noritake on the way for review, an MO VFD to compare it to and maybe a completely different make of VFD on the way too... :)

    Teh expert strikes again :)

    Anyway, it depends what you want it for. If you want something you can read accross the other side of the room, then its VFD all the way. Better selection of colours, LCD is probably best.

    if color is important to you, you'll find more colors with a lcd... if color doesn't have any importance to you, then VFD.

    But you could mod a vfd to make it the color you want :D

    The only problem I have with VFDs is they always make me see 'Please Insert Correct Change' .. or 'Please Wait While Can Is Dispensed':lol:

    I prefer LCDs too, VFDs look cool, but LCD's are pure class, simple and effective :)
