Recently, I just built a new comp. Well, since it's a new mobo too, I needed to get an adapter (for HDD15 M); which the new 845PE chipsets don't seem to accomidate. The only ports I can think of attaching the monitor too on the 845PE chipset was either, the serial ports or the parallel ports. I found a HDD15 F - DB9M (serial port) adapter + a cable of the DB9F/DB9F that connects to the mobo. But why, when I turn the computer, the screen dosen't register?
Firstly, welcome to the forums (not often I get to say that) From your post it sounds like you're attaching the montior to a serial port? Dont want to sound rude but that isnt going to work What motherboard is this btw? It sounds like your old motherboard had onboard video, and your new one doesn't? in which case you'll need a graphics card... Probably get more replies if this were moved to the hardware forum btw
Yep, the reason there is no HDDB15 ports on it is because it doesn't have a built-in video card, go into Graphics Cards forums for info on getting a graphics card for it.
