What you're looking for is a "scan converter", not an actual cable.

No, they have different signal timings and lines. S-video only has 2 working lines (Luminance and Chrominance) and 2 grounds. Whereas VGA has 7 (Red, Green, Blue, DDC DAT, H-Sync, V-Sync, DCC Clock) and 5 grounds. A scan converter has to consolidate and resize the image in realtime in order to output in S-video or Composite.

You can either get a scan converter, or a video card with S-Video output.

ISTR seeing a circuit diagram for VGA-SCART conversion. But that was many moons ago.

A quick googling reveals this link. :dremel:

i thought id ask this on this thread instead of asking on a new one..

i saw this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=3759&item=5188577112&rd=1&ssPageName=WD2V on ebay and was thinking about getting one.. i no they are probably classed as crude devises as they dont convert the picture properly..

but anyways what im woundering is will they work on my computer..? the computer i want to use it on only has a onboard VGA port hence why i want one.. and i cant really afford a new graphics card for it and i only want to hook it up to the TV.. the only problem i see when i look at it, is that it says i need a TV out function..? all i have on it is a VGA port
